Hostgator Review – I Use Hostgator For Build A Niche Store

I have been asked which web hosting company I use for this blog. I decided to use Hostgator after I read the forum boards at several of the forums I visit. All you need to do is do a search on Digital Point or the Warriors forum for the word “hosting“. Scroll down until you see a question similar to “what hosting do you use?” and you will always see Hostgator as one of the favorite choices.

Hostgator is the only hosting company that I have ever used so I can’t really compare it to any others. I can say that I have needed help three times and each time I was able to get a live person on the phone within 3 or 4 minutes.

The first time I needed help was when I was first starting and didn’t really understand how to get my site up. The help desk person looked in my cPanel and explained to me what I had done wrong and what I needed to do. It was a scary time as I was clueless and worried that I would never be able to successfully put anything up on the Internet. As you can see, I was able to fix the problem. They really came through for me.

The second timeI needed help was when my Fantastico icon disappeared overnight from my cPanel. That was really frustrating as I had to have multiple conversations with two or three people before they discovered that somehow Fantastico had been deleted by someone on their end from my cPanel. They didn’t know why or how and it took another 6 hours to get it put back in.

Hostgator is one of the top two or three hosting companies and I have never read anything bad about them in the forums. I use the “Baby Croc” package which gives me unlimited domains for $7.95 a month. That allows me to put up as many BANS sites and blogs as I want to and I have had no problem doing that.

I would definitely recommend Hostgator as I am VERY happy with them and I have used them over 7 months now. If you click through and use my Hostgator linkI would really appreciate it! Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.

I wish I had gone with hostgator now instead of godaddy. The multiple domains feature seems to be worth it.

I’ve read a lot about Hostgator and every review I find seems to be positive. Looks like they have a quality service here. Great post.

I’m also using HostGator’s Baby plan, and its simple superb. Excellent uptime, and best support, and you can host more than one websites. I host 7 currently. 🙂

I recently signed up with Hostgator at the recommendation of a guy that has a script similar, but easier, than BANS, imho, so far I am loving both the script and Hostgator. I signed up for the resellers account and it has been a lot simpler than trying to use the Godaddy hosting. GoDaddy has been great for the domain names, but I have experienced some issues with the hosting.

[…] I decided not to sell and in fact I have just paid for another year of hosting (read my Hostgator review) for DayJobNuker. Maybe I should pay for 10 years because I think I can make some pretty effortless […]

We have used Hostgator since 2004 and everything has always been stable. They take care of things pretty fast once the issue is sent to them via their support system. I have had both shared hosting accounts as well as a dedicated server. No Compliants.

    Sure, I recommend Hostgator..

I have used Hostgator for 3 years and everything has been smooth so far. I have 5 accounts for shared and 2 dedicated servers. I recommend Hostgator to many of my clients (I’m a web developer) because they have the opportunity to try it out for free if they enter hostgator coupon during the order.
