HOW TO MAKE MONEY AT DAY JOB NUKER.COM

Craigslist + NFL + Ebay = Money Making Opportunity

This is one of the ways to make money that I have personally never tried this but my friend has and is successfully doing it right now today. So far this year he has made well over $1000.00. The idea is to get NFL tickets for reasonable prices on Craigslist and resell them for a profit on Ebay. This is how he has done it:

First of all, I believe this will only work in cities that have a very good / popular team. NFL ticket prices only go up if the demand is high. In our case, we live in Seattle which has had a very successful and popular team for the last three years or so. All games are sold out and ticket demand is very high. This is the perfect situation to try to resell tickets for a profit.

The waiting list for good season tickets is over 10,000 I have been told for the Seahawks. Many season ticket holders don’t, however, necessarily want to go to all games and in some cases they might not even want to go to any of the regular season games! They want to keep their season tickets though, because they will be guaranteed to get playoff tickets. They want playoff tickets and the best way to get them is to hang on to the regular season tickets.

This causes some of these folks to try to “unload” their regular season tickets a month or two before the season even starts. If they can get face value or a little bit more for those tickets they are very happy because then they can then sit back and watch the games on TV being confident that when playoff time comes around they will be there. Not everyone wants to go to every game and not everyone has the couple of thousand dollars it takes to attend them either.

What my friend did was watch the Seattle Craigslist very closely during June, July, and August everyday looking for tickets that were being offered for face value or reasonably near face value. He uses the seating / pricing chart that is online so he can quickly figure out the price of a pair of tickets in any section. Before the season even started he had accumulated a good number of pairs of season tickets that he bought from people who listed them on Craigslist. Craigslist is better for buying tickets than Ebay because the seller lists his price whereas on Ebay you are bidding against everyone else and the market demand determines the price.

After accumulating his tickets, he is now selling them on Ebay for a tidy profit every week there is a home game. He often gets double what he paid and in some cases with the really popular teams, approaches triple his initial investment. He bought the tickets low when football was off everyones radar and now that football is hot, he is reaping the rewards.

Actually, he is still looking for and finding tickets that are being offered on Craigslist for too low a price 5 weeks into the season. He has been able to make additional profits from people who just don’t know that they can get more by selling their tickets on Ebay.

Making money in this fashion is of course risky. If the Seahawks had started out 0-5 my friend would surely have not done as well and maybe even lost money. If your team ends up not doing as well as predicted or expected the demand for tickets may go down and with it will go your profits. Additionally, you have to have money to get started and be willing to pay for the tickets weeks or months in advance of being able to sell them. The more you are willing to invest, however, the more you may be able to make.

Although my friend has been successful this year, he wishes he had bought more tickets from people before the season started. He says he really missed a good opportunity because he didn’t want to risk more money. If the conditions are right next year he will try to buy more tickets early on. Unfortunately for him, he may have me to compete with too!

Using Craigslist instead of eBay is a good idea. Also check out http://www.gumtree.com. Same idea; free ads, simple posting, local ads. eBay is great if you want to buy something, but very poor if you want to flog something fast with no hassle.

Sounds solid. I wonder if this would work for people in cities without NFL teams. Say someone in Orlando buying Miami and Tampa Bay tickets. Craigslist is a much better place to get the tickets in my past as I have bought college tickets form the site and also bargained the seller down. Good stuff. Will be coming back often to check the site!!

This is a very good idea and can be a profitable venture for anyone especially if they expand the idea away from just football tickets.

If you sell at all on eBay, Craiglist is an absolute goldmine for getting items to resell.

Very interesting way of profiting between the two sites, never even though about it. I know it can be tough in certain cities with scalping laws, as Ebay seems to prohibit above the face value sales of some tickets, depending on the venue. Thanks for this write up.

he’s able to profit from such pricing discrepancies since he’s familiar with the online tools and how to calculate the prices. most people are too lazy to make an effort.

    kudos to your friend.

The NFL is more popular than ever. I think your friends plan should work well. 12 weeks and 5 days until the NFL kickoff, but who’s counting…. 🙂
