In my last post about grocery store garage sales, I said I would buy 200 boxes of my muesli cereal the next time it went on sale. Well, I got tired and I didn’t make it to 200. It went on sale with a “buy one get one free” situation and I only managed to get 100 boxes.
I found out it is hard work going from store to store getting all those boxes home. I was too embarrassed to place an order like I did with the soup and I knew if I placed an order with them I would have to make several trips anyway due to the bulky cereal boxes.
I feel like I am in a Seinfeld episode with all the cereal (didn’t he like cereal?). I saved about $200.00 doing this and this cereal keeps for a long time so I will have no problem storing it. Here is what a 100 boxes of cereal looks like:

Only 96 in this picture but I have 4 more (trust me)

I wonder how many boxes it will take for this to become your LEAST favorite cereal.
Congrats on the savings, but I wouldn’t know what to do with 100 boxes of cereal.
Wow, all you need now is a cow to save on Milk!
Donovan, I don’t tire easily of the things I like so I’m not worried!
Good luck eating this all….
All that will sure keep you ‘regular’
Bruce where do you find the storage place to put all these things?? Wow. I do something like this as well but not at such big batches. I love my canned mayo tuna.
Now, that’s a load of cereal. You got me thinking that I should start doing that too!
I love cereal. I like bargain shopping, but I don’t know if I can eat the same cereal everyday. I’m going to have to try this brand.
Ok Bruce I have to ask LMAO How long will the cereal last?
I go through about 3 boxes every two weeks so about 6 per month maybe. Wow. I guess it will take me longer to go through it than I thought. Good thing this stuff lasts almost forever.
LOL!!!
Enough there to keep a small country going for a while!
wow that’s a lot of cereal, I hope you had a place to store all of this.
Have you contacted the cereal company to work out a cross promotion? You have a 125×125 ad on your site with this picture of 100 boxes…they print your blog on the back of their boxes! There you go. I will let you have that idea for FREE!
BudgetBoy, that was hilarious!
Grocery Store Garage Sales Part 2 | Day Job Nuker.Com…
One of our dear buddies has been way to slammed with the horrible 9-5 and has not submitted a post for a few days and this is a gem so I felt it needed to be shown to all BZ users. Now folks this is quite simple when was the last time you went to the s…
I’m tempted to say that you may very well be a cereal stalker… pun very much intended.
That reminds me of Dude, Where’s My Car? and the pudding.
I used to try to catch deals like this when stores were blowing out excess inventory so that I could resell it on eBay.
A bit much for my taste, but a good bargain if you’re inclined to eat that much of one cereal. Good luck.
I can’t believe that you will eat the same cereal everyday. I usually have 3 or 4 different cereals on hand for my varying tastes in the morning. Anyhow… good job on saving all that money!

There is a place for storage under the stairs in my house
