How To Make Money From Home | Ways To Make Money

Higher Gas Prices = Safer Roads?

Now that gasoline prices are so high, I have tried two ways to save gas:

The first is to turn off the air conditioning that was always on in my car. Having the air conditioning button on, even when the heat is on, seems to work wonders in preventing the windows from fogging up. On a cold or cool day, you are constantly battling the the windows and their constant desire to fog up and having the air conditioning on all the time works really well. The air conditioning uses extra gas so I have tried having it off instead and only using it when it gets too hot. Now that summer is here though, this may be harder to do.

The second thing I have been doing is driving more slowly. I now drive like a Grandpa and try to keep it at 60 MPH and not go over. I just settle in on the right lane and am very content to drive behind the slowest driver as I know I am saving money and it is safer anyway. Keeping it at 60 uses less gas than 65 or 70 and now I don’t have to worry about a ticket either. Are other people doing this too? By driving slower you are both saving money on gas and being safer.

To see if this was really a ways to save gas, I ran my tank down to as close to empty as I dared and then filled it full. I drove normally and then recorded the number of miles I got. I then filled my tank up again, turned off the air conditioning and drove at 60 mph, and I got just about 40 more miles for that tank of gas! It’s not a huge savings but to some people even $5 to $8 in savings per tank would really help. Everyone is trying to figure out how to save gas right now and some people are doing it with water. Does it really work to save gas with water? I have not hear of this but maybe you can get some extra miles out of each tank by trying this.

People who don’t make a lot and have to drive to work are really having trouble making ends meet right now. It is affecting every aspect of our lives and it makes you think about how much our society is dependent on oil. Every little thing helps and now is a great time to start looking into ways to make money on the Internet to make an extra dollar or two. It’s not too hard to start making some extra gas money!

Air conditioning really can suck up all your gas. Same with having the windows down at high speeds because it causes drag.

I got myself a scooter for the summer and I absolutely love it. More people need to get them to battle gas prices.

i think the best solution is to find a way to make more money. I know it sounds a bit dumb to say, but how long are you going to enjoy cutting back? Why did you buy a car with AC? I think a lot of people are thinking (or hoping) this is temporary while increasing demand in other parts of the world is reducing available supplies and increasing the price.
It is also unrealistic for a country to try to survive and not plan on increasing its energy sources. While efficiency is important and profitable, there is not real way to grow an economy and use less energy in the long run.
Sorry, the current energy situation is something that I find very annoying.

Why did I buy a car with AC? Because I was buying a CAR and not a BICYCLE!

Someone definitely needs to wake up and realize when a gallon of gas is more than the minimum wage, there is a problem.

I didn’t even think about that. You can drive and waste more gas in an hour than some can actually make.

Prices are going through the roof here in UK too.

Spain has traditionally been one of the countries in Europe with the lowest gas/diesel prices, but lately we’re catching everyone else up. Right now a litre of unleaded is around €1,20-1,30 which averages out to around €5 a gallon.

What that works out to in US dollars might make you choke on your breakfast when you realise that no matter how expensive gas might be for you guys now, you’ve had it sooooo easy compared to us here in Europe for like ever!

When you compare our gas prices with the average monthy wage of a paltry €700 a month in Spain, you can see why we all drive around in small cars that get 50+ miles to the gallon, unlike most US cars that don’t get close to half that. The cost of living is getting higher here, but wages are not rising to compensate.

Sure there’s a world shortage of oil – its been coming since the 1970s and anyone who cared to listen has known about it. Don’t expect prices to ever go down, they won’t! The only way is UP!

Until the oil companies stop treating us all like morons and start releasing the true alternative fuel cars, instead of the half assed ones they’re fobbing us off with now, nothing will change except the oil barons will continue get richer as we get poorer.

    End of sermon…

The US is sitting on enough oil to get us (America) through the next 30 years. However, all the liberals who don’t give a damn about people and only care about ruining people’s lives will not let us drill because they say they want to protect the environment.

Hmm, I haven’t tried the air conditioning trick. I should do that. I have started to drive slower and to coast as much as possible. Coasting is what has saved me a ton of money I think. And the roads would be safer if everyone would slow down. I think we should protect the environment and just keep working towards a more effective form of gasoline.

To run the engine efficiently, precise control of the fuel/air mix is required as you have to lean out the hydrocarbon fuel/air mix during normal running, or richen the mixture when the fuel/air mix begins to pre-ignite – easy with today’s computerized fuel injection systems which make use of anti-knock sensors (which pick up any pre-ignition), temperature sensors all over the engine, and exhaust gas sensors.

Among other things components heat the fuel line so the fuel isn’t cold; it also has a box for tweaking the onboard computer that controls the fuel injectors to compensate for the additional gas volume of the water vapor.

The method under discussion is a method for increasing the fuel-burning efficiency of a regular gas or diesel engine – not running it on H2O as a fuel replacement.

I watched a trial of driving. As a result slower driving indeed save money on gas.
