I now know (and so should you) that backlinks are the main key to getting your sites up onto the first page of Google for the keywords you select. Of course, not all keywords are created equal and some are much harder to succeed with than others due to the amount of competition. However, if you don’t succeed in getting some free traffic from Google and the other search engines, any BANS site or blog is most likely destined to fail.

I am doing this Bookmarking Demon review now that I have had it for about 5 months and have a good feel for what to expect. I actually have my old laptop set up just to do Bookmarking Demon runs. I have had it going for days at a time and only turn it off when I want to give my laptop a breather. Not everyone can do that I know, but it works great for me to have that second computer that I can devote solely to bookmarking.

Bookmarking Demon = Backlinks

The main reason to use Bookmarking Demon is to get backlinks and NOT to get traffic from the social bookmarking sites. Yes, you will get some traffic from them but not enough to really make a difference. Anchored backlinks are what you want and that is what you will get. It is anchored backlinks for your keywords or keyword phrases that will slowly and steadily move you up in the Google rankings and eventually land you on the first page.

How Does It Work?

With BD there are two types of bookmarking sites that can be used: the big “legitimate” sites such as Mister Wong, Spurl, Simpy, Faves, etc as well as scuttle sites which are Open Source script bookmarking sites that anyone can build. (with the new version there are also ScuttlePlus sites and Pligg sites)

Bookmarking to the the normal sites takes longer and is more involved than the scuttle sites but the links are definitely worth more and worth the time. Bookmarking Demon will automatically sign you up as you input one name, login, and password that will be used for all the sites. With these mainstreem sites you will have to type in a captcha number for many of them as they individually pop up on the screen. After BD is finished signing you up, you will then have to go to the email you chose to click the links and activate the accounts.

Not all of the signups may be successful and that is one of this frustrating things about BD but it is understandable since these sites are continually trying to thwart people from using automation. You can then choose to go back and sign up for the failed ones manually or just go with the ones that were successful. In the end though, the main thing is that you will be getting these backlinks much faster than you could ever do manually and if you miss a few sites it really doesn’t matter.

Next up would be to enter the url’s of the pages you want to bookmark. The “title” is where you would put your desired anchor link or links. BD has a random feature which is very nice and allows you to put in as many anchor link titles as you want and it will randomly choose each time. You will want to enter as many keywords as you can think of because you will be getting an anchored link for each keyword. Note of caution: with all the “real” bookmarking sites you will want to include links from other web pages and not just the links to all your sites. This is because you want to disguise the fact that you are really only doing this to promote your own site(s) and they actually have people who check these things. You want to make it look like you are really bookmarking many different sites of interest and not only pages from your sites.

Luckily, bookmarking to the scuttle sites is 10 times easier. There is no captcha to fill out and you can make up any email address as there will be no account that needs to be verified. There is no need to “disguise” your links by adding others as no one will be checking or care. You can just bookmark all your links over and over (with different names) and no one will mind at all. It is these scuttle site runs that I sometimes do for days at a time.

How Easy Is It To Understand?

When you buy the Bookmarking Demon software it will most likely take you an hour or two to understand all the features but it is not really very complicated and even a beginner should be able to understand it quickly. You will want to learn how to do a complete job of entering the data (different titles and keywords) for every page you want to bookmark as that is vital information and once you enter it you can save it and use it over and over.

Every time you do a new bookmarking run you will want to sign up to the sites with a different username and password as you don’t want the same “person” bookmarking the same think over and over. You want the bookmarks to be coming from different users. Repeatedly having to sign up is more time consuming with the real bookmarking sites because of the hoops you have to jump through (screen captcha and verifying accounts), but it takes just a minute or two with the scuttle sites.

Does  Bookmarking Demon Work?

Now to the important things like: does it work and is it worth it? If you have a BANS site you know that it consists of many pages each with a different item. For instance, if your Build A Niche site is about kites then you will probably have a separate page for every brand of kite as well as a page for all the different kite accessories. When people search for each type of kite, you are hoping your BANS pages will come up near or at the top of the searches engines and that is how you will get your business. The same thing is true with a blog in that you hope each page will come up high in the search engines for each of your blog post topics.

Most people build backlinks to their main domain only and never to the internal pages. However, these internal pages need backlinks too in order for them to rise to the top of the search rankings. You want and need each of your BANS pages to have keyword authority for whatever item it is selling. Backlinks to each individual page is the best way to get that authority. This is where Bookmarking Demon shines. It allows you to easily get some backlinks to EVERY PAGE of your BANS sites, your blogs, or whatever type of websites you have. Doing all this manually would take hundreds of hours and most people would never even attempt it. With Bookmarking Demon, you can get these links to your internal pages with only a minimum amount of work. This is where I see the great value of Bookmarking Demon because without it I would never have any links to my internal pages of this blog or my any of my BANS sites. BD is the best way I have found to easily get backlinks to everyone of your internal pages.

The links you will be getting may show up tomorrow, next month, six months from now, or never. That is indeed frustrating but that is the nature of the Internet and the main search engines. The links will show up in Yahoo first as they are more liberal than Google in showing links. Additionally, I have had my bookmarking links show up on the first page of Google when my actual site was no where to be found. I have gotten some traffic in those instances. When you see your links showing up on Google or Yahoo you at least know they are there and doing you some good.

When you start a new site and have no incoming links at all, it is especially nice to have Bookmarking Demon because you can at least get the ball rolling. By having some links coming to your new website from the major bookmaking sites, this will at least give Google and Yahoo something to follow and they might find your site that way. I have also been bookmarking all my Squidoo lens and every other type of Internet page I have. This is something that most people would never think about but there is no reason why you cannot start working on your keyword authority for your Squidoo pages and BD is perfect for this.

I hope this Bookmarking Demon review has been some help to you in understanding what the software is and does. It is not a magic program and you will have to do some legwork to get things set up properly but once you do it, it will make bookmarking to social sites a breeze. I would never ever think of doing it manually again as I can do it so much easier and faster with this software. Another thing to note is that you will get any updates to BD for life as Edwin does update the software periodically to add and delete some sites. If you are like anything like me, you have so many usernames and passwords that it is impossible to keep track of them in your head. I have a sheet of paper that I keep adding to every time I get a new one. In this post I talk about my online poker experiences and how I played on more than 30 sites. I had a list of passwords like you wouldn’t believe! How I wish I had known about RoboForm then!
