A person by the name of Jessie just left a comment on one of my posts asking why so many online jobs require you to pay them money. Here is the comment:

What Jessie doesn’t understand is that there are very few real online “jobs” and if you actually find one, I would assume it would be free to apply to. Jessie is correct that real jobs will not charge you money.

What Is An Online Job?

A lot of people look for jobs online but they are not all looking for the same thing. Some people are looking for real honest to goodness jobs that have benefits and a boss that keeps track of your work. Other people are just looking for some ways to make money. Many stay at home moms may look for online jobs but in reality are just be looking for something that can fill an hour or two of their days where they can make some extra money. So you see, not everyone is really looking for a job or a career.

I would say that many of the people that look for “work from home jobs” or “stay at home jobs“ are doing so because they can’t get a job in the real world for one reason or another. They want something simple where they can make some easy money at home. What they don’t understand is that nothing is simple or easy.

Jessie is right that if you happen to find a “real job” you can do online, whatever that is, you should not be charged for it. But does Jessie really understand that any real job will be hard to get and require you to have experience and qualifications? If you are educated and have experience, skills, and a good resume you will probably not be one of the people randomly searching on Google for an online job. You will most likely be networking with your contacts and getting the word out that you are looking for a job, one that can be done most of the time at home.

Most Things Are Just Ways To Make Money

99% of the things you see online that have to do with making money ARE NOT JOBS! They are just ways to make money. Even though they might be advertised as a job or as work, they are really just some sort of money making opportunity. And as many of you know, they might also be things that are misleading or scams.

Because so many things are scams, the few good programs get tainted just by association. The Keyword Academy (where Jessie left his comment) though, is one of the good ones and they do charge a monthly fee after the first month being given away for free.

Should you have to pay to learn how to make money online? Let’s reverse the question and ask why someone would bother to teach you for free? What is in it for them if they teach you for free? All your schooling had to be paid for throughout the years either by taxes or tuition and so why would you expect to be taught for free how to make money online? You shouldn’t and that is why people charge for their courses and systems.

The only real problem is that because so many of them turn out to be worthless, misleading, or dishonest that people become scared to pay for anything online in the “make money” arena.

If you sit in front of computer all day with bad posture, this story can save you $500 or more in doctor and physical therapy bills. Learn what I have learned so you don’t have to have expensive physical therapy like I am having. If one or both of your arms hurt and you don’t know how you injured them, it might be the way you sit. Interestingly, your arms hurting can be caused by the muscles in your neck. Here’s the story so far:

Are workplace injuries real? I always thought they were a joke but was I wrong.

Learning how to make money from home on your computer is very popular in 2010 and it will probably continue to be so through 2011 if the number of real jobs don’t pick up. People want to take advantage of the Internet and that means sitting at home in front of your computer for hours on end.

If you are successful in any home business that requires you to work 100% of your time online, you are going to be logging in long hours sitting in a chair glued to your computer. At times I am online 10 or more hours a day and my posture has gotten worse and worse.

The Problem:

My back often hurts and gets sore as does my neck and I try to move around as much as possible but its hard. Then two months ago my left arm started hurting. Out of the blue, with absolutely no injury to it, my arm started aching and moving it certain directions hurt.

I thought nothing of it at first and attributed the pain to stress. Stress has been a big problem for me and it can attack different parts of my body. But usually the pain goes away and that’s how I know it is stress.

My arm pain didn’t go away though, and very gradually got worse. I went kayaking once which was a big mistake and my arm was really sore the next day. I also played golf a couple times but didn’t seem to notice the pain much or I wouldn’t have gone. But day after day, week after week, the pain slowly got worse.

Sleeping was the hard part as you use both arms when you adjust positions or turn over. I am a restless sleeper and I am constantly turning over and adjusting my position during the night. With my bad arm, sleeping was painful and I would often hurt it more during the night.

I didn’t want to go to the doctor because I thought it just needed rest and would heal on its own. Oh, I also didn’t want to go to the doctor because I am an idiot.

Instead, I would go for a day trying to hardly move my arm, pretending it was in a sling. That made it a little better and I got excited thinking all my arm needed was rest. But then I would hurt it again during the night or I would hurt it sometime during the day when I would forget for a split second that it was injured and make a move that was bad.

The last two weeks things continued to get worse and I finally realized I needed to go to the doctor because my arm was not getting better on it’s own. My doctor proceeded to send me to a physical therapist and the first visit was $189 out of my own pocket because my insurance doesn’t cover it.

<del>The Answer</del>: (turned out to NOT be the answer)

So far though, that has been the best $189.00 I have ever spent. My arm is hurting, it turns out, because muscles in my NECK have turned off. My neck doesn’t hurt but it is the culprit. The way I sit all day resting on my arm and bending my neck has somehow shut off the muscles that keep my vertebrae in my neck tight and together when I move. Not being in the proper position and floating a little, these vertebrae are pinching the muscles on the left side of my neck and those muscles lead right down to my arm. So, the pinching of the muscles in my neck is leading to the pain in my arm.

It’s more complicated than that but that is the basics. I have a lot of appointments set up but already my arm feels much better with the exercises he has given me to do. The body is so complicated it is incredible it stays together like it does and works at all. I have a long way to go I fear as this is going to take a while to heal and get things back to normal.

If you have back pain, neck pain, arm pain and you sit in front of your computer for hours at a time, you need to be aware of the damage you might be doing. I am going to have to totally rearrange the way I sit and work on the computer and I am going to have to start doing upper body workouts to get stronger. My slumping over the computer has to stop and I really have no other option at this point.

11/18/2010 Update – This is really not going well for me as I made some good strides in the beginning and now have hit a wall. My arm movement has improved but my doctor and physical therapist do not know why I can’t progress beyond a certain point. The only thing left to do is get an MRI to see if something is really wrong (like a tear) and those are EXPENSIVE! I also don’t have insurance that will cover one and I understand they can run about $2,000.

I am trying to get better health insurance but I want to wait until the beginning of the new year so that if I have to pay $2,000 at least that will count towards my deductible for 2011. So far in physical therapy I have spent almost $800! I’m not a happy camper right now and I wish I knew more from the start so I could have avoided this silly injury. I’m still in pain everyday too.

3/23/2011 Update – I did have the MRI done and nothing was wrong. My family doctor gave up and sent me to a specialist. He said I had a frozen shoulder that could take up to 2 years to get better. He gave me a cortisone shot in the left shoulder and it made things better right away. I was able to then exercise which slowly help me get some of my range of motion back. Before the shot, I couldn’t even move my arm without it being in pain.

The cortisone shot wore off in about 6 weeks and then I went back to get another. My new doctor lectured me that he couldn’t keep giving me the shots because they are steroids and harmful. One more was it. He ordered me to do a lot more exercises and I followed orders. Now, several months later I am about 95% with my arm. No more shots are needed and I am not in any more pain. I have to remember to keep exercising otherwise I forget. My range of movement is close to normal but not quite there yet. At this pace I hope to be 100% by the end of the year.

No one seems to know what causes a frozen shoulder but lots of people get them. The cortisone shots where what did it for me as without them I don’t know how I would have been able to get to the point where I could exercise. So, if you think you have what I had, ask your doctor about frozen shoulders and maybe go see a specialist.

6/10/11 Update – The cortisone shots really were a miracle for me. They loosened things up so that my arm didn’t have the pain that prevented me from exercising. Frozen shoulders can also be called “adhesive capsulitis” and if you go to a bone and joint doctor, he will probably be able to identify it right away. The pain went down within an hour of taking each of the shots and then through the following weeks and months I was able to gradually get my range of movement back. The best thing is that the cortisone allowed me to FINALLY sleep well at night as the paid was greatly reduced.

Are you tired of buying worthless ebooks that promise to show you how to make easy money online? Have you signed up for money making systems that turned out to be scams? Are you sick and tired of all the BS sales pages you read that are designed just to convince you to part with your money?

The Keyword Academy Is None Of That

If you are honestly trying to learn how to make money from home, The Keyword Academy is your best choice. This is for people who want to learn how money is being made on the Internet and how, with work, it can be turned into a full time job. This is NOT an easy money making system but something that can be turned into a real, full time, job from home. I know because I am living it.

The best part about The Keyword Academy (TKA) is that the first month is 100% FREE. You sign up Via PayPal (you can use a credit card there) and you will not be charged until the first month has passed. After the first month you will be charged one of the two membership charges of either $29 or $33 (whichever you signed up for). Again though, YOU CAN CANCEL AT ANY TIME DURING THE FIRST MONTH AND YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED AT ALL. It is truly free for the first month.

What Is The Keyword Academy?

Mark Butler and Court Tuttle designed this training site to teach people how to make money online the right way. There are no hyped up claims here and no promises of what you will make. If you don’t do the work, you won’t make a dime. But if you do learn the concepts and do work hard at it, it is possible to make quite a lot (results will vary). As of this writing there are more than 1400 paying members to this site which should alone tell you it is legitimate.

Please watch this video I made showing some of the insides of The Keyword Academy:

9/27/2011 Update: I just put up this new video which shows all the changes that have been made in moving from TKA 1.0 to 2.0. You may hear a lot about this change once you sign up but it mostly means that more emphasis being placed on teaching you how to put up websites that Google will trust and that will stand the test of time. There are over 15 new lessons in the sidebar and a handful of new Webinars to listen to that will explain the changes. Additionally two new people have been hired to help out with the lessons and the forum so there will always be someone available to answer questions. These are exciting changes that are all designed to give you a better learning product that can help you become and STAY successful at making money online!

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Making money online for most of us means making money through affiliate marketing. It involves building websites (or blogs) around specific subjects (niches) or products and getting paid when people go through the links on our sites to buy something. You are effectively putting your website in the middle between the buyer and seller and as you might know, all middlemen take a cut.

The idea is to have websites that pop up on Google’s front page when people search for what your websites are about. For instance, if you have a website about “Japanese Rice Cookers”, you want that site to pop up first in Google (or at least on the first page of the Google results) when someone searches for that term.

You make money when they click through a link and buy a rice cooker on Amazon or where ever else you direct them. The Keyword Academy systematically shows you how to do all this and it is also big on showing you how to make money through Google’s Adsense program which is another form of affiliate marketing.

What You Get At TKA

Your first month is free and during that month you will have access to everything. Thats EVERYTHING! First off you should start with all the material that is on the right sidebar which lists all the lessons. The introduction will give you some contact information and then you should read “What it Takes To Succeed With Our Method”. Under that is each chapter of the eBook and within those chapters are often videos and audio files. Many of them are over 30 minutes in length and they are the backbone of what you are being taught. They explain in detail all the concepts of how to make money on the Internet and what will be required of you to get started. If you have never tried to make money before, you will have a lot to learn and may need to watch these videos and read the chapters twice.

The Keyword Academy will teach you how to pick niches that you are interested in around which to build websites. Picking topics and keywords is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT because you want to pick ones that will be profitable AND keep your interest for the long term. The Google Adwords tool (which is free) is now what you will learn to use to pick those keywords and there are webinars that go over this in detail.

At least once a month there is a new webinar about different subjects and you will have access to all old webinars. You will want to listen to these as well as it will further your learning. Take advantage of the free 30 day period and learn as much as you can!

Other things that are available in The Keyword Academy are the guest post system (PostRunner) and the forum. PostRunner is a wonderful way to get links back to your blogs which help in the search rankings. I know people who pay the $33 per month just to use this wonderful tool. The forums are always active and helpful but limited time should be spent there because any and all forums are a time sink (my opinion).

Why You Should Join

The obvious reason you should join The Keyword Academy is that it is free for the first month. You have one month to learn all you can with no risk to you. If you have always wondered how other people are making money online, then this is the place to learn how.

With the help of TKA, you will learn how to build a sustainable second income that is real from the Internet. The more work you put in the more you can potentially make. You will be building a business and once you start making money something will click inside your head as all the pieces come together.

Whether you choose to continue on after the first month is totally up to you. (I misspoke at the very end of the video as you will NOT be charged for the first month so it is impossible to get a refund). Many people choose to stay on and pay the monthly fee because they see that the site is professional and they see a community of people who are all serious about making money.

Do you have to live in the USA to join? No, anyone from anywhere in the world can join TKA because the principles taught are for the Internet and of course the Internet is everywhere. There are tons of members from the UK and all over Europe as well as Canada and other countries.
